MTOD Run Time Considerations In Addition to the Sub Run


MacTier North Bound Run Long

Times are from arrival at MacTier to arrival at the location of staging.

Note: It was determined not to be feasible to stage a southbound that requires Blue Lake road to be cut(length exceeding 5600”) due to the likelihood of failure on the Mactier sub.

  • Run north to Brignall 30 minutes

  • Run north to Dockmure 45 minutes

  • Run north to Dockmure 1’30” and cut Blue Lake Road. 

  • Tie down train 30 minutes

  • Time to unsecure train 20 minutes.

    Travel by taxi
    From Brignall ………… N/A
    From Dockmure ……30 minutes

    Return by light engine
    From Brignall…………… 45 minutes
    From Dockmure……….. 55 minutes

    Time for crew to tie up…..15 minutes


Mactier South Bound Run Long

Times are from arrival at MacTier to arrival at the location of staging.

  • Run South to Bala 30 minutes.

  • Run North from Bala 45 minutes.(Power at South end)
     

  • Tie Train Down 30 minutes.

  • Time to unsecure train 20 minutes.

    Travel by taxi
    From Bala………30 minutes

    Return by light engine
    From Bala………45 minutes


Notes:

1. Should trains be required to operate through the yard an additional 15 minutes will need to be included.

2. Familiarization will be required for crews at Mactier.

3. Please pay consideration when Run Long is contemplated for use on trains 434 and 435, as this additional time on their long trips may cause failure to meet 10 hour in/off commitment.

4. There is no Road Access to Brginall. Northward train at Bala will require power to be taken to southend.
